Karaim leads St. Catharines over London, 9-4
Luke Karaim had two goals and two assists to lead the St. Catharines Falcons to a 9-4 victory over the London Nationals.Karaim scored at 17:13 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines and again while short handed 19:49 into the first to make the score 3-1 St. Catharines.
St. Catharines made London's goaltenders to work all game long, totaling 50 shots and forcing 41 saves. Taylor Edwards made 38 stops and Jake Patterson made three.
St. Catharines also got points from Kyle Woodhouse, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Riley Jakobschuk, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Andy Sturtz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Curtis Longland, who also tallied one goal and two assists. St. Catharines also got a goal from Johnson Andrews as well. The Nationals were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 18 penalty minutes.
London was helped by Spencer Watson, who had one goal. Watson scored 7:46 into the third period to make the score 5-4 St. Catharines. Thomas Menechella provided the assist.
